1. Gifts to a school
Funding a block or giving to a campaign is a donation to the school, so it isn’t normally refundable once made. The school should refund you if:
- you were charged twice or charged the wrong amount;
- you were charged but your block wasn’t recorded;
- the payment was made without your permission (also contact your bank).
A school may also agree to a refund for other reasons; that’s its choice.
2. How to ask for a refund
Contact the school running the campaign (its name is at the top of the campaign page), with the campaign name, your block number or amount, the date, and the email address you used. Card refunds are made by the school through PayFast back to the card you used; your bank may take a few working days to show it.
If you can’t reach the school or the problem isn’t resolved, contact BLOCKr at [contact email to be confirmed] and we’ll help put you in touch.
3. Cash and EFT reservations
If you reserved a block to pay by cash or EFT, nothing is charged through BLOCKr. If you change your mind before paying, tell the school and it will release the block. If you’ve already paid the school, ask the school about a refund as above.
4. If a campaign is cancelled
If a school cancels a project before it goes ahead, it should tell supporters what will happen to the money: a refund, or using it for another project with supporters’ agreement. Contact the school if you haven’t heard.
5. School plan fees
School plan fees are paid by schools to BLOCKr. How cancellation works for the yearly and month-to-month plans is set out in the School agreement. We’ll refund any fee charged in error.
